here comes Monday!!!

here's a song that my siblings & i used to sing to every time we had blackouts at home when we were kids..my eldest brother A1 (probably around 9 or 10 at the time), armed with a tennis racket pretending to be a guitar will sing this song to his heart content & the rest of us will join in during the 'wo..ooo..feeling...' part!
it was good fun cos that is the only part i know how to sing anyway...xD

i've forgotten this song for quite awhile until we were sitting in the dark during earth hour a week ago last month.

oh i've never knew who sang this song until i search for this song for this week's Music Monday entry.

Music Monday #7~ a tribute...

Monday is here again....
unlike any other MM entries in the past, this is a rather difficult post to write.
last week hasn't been an easy week for all of us in the family...in conjunction to that i'm playing these two songs as a tribute...

here is why...

myBIL` Jomey's wife~ Aisha had given birth to premature set of twins (a boy & a girl) at 6& 1/2 months...short of another 2 weeks into their 7th month to be in a safer condition to being born prematurely...baby boy~ Suffian Miqhail @860gms & baby girl Nur Dania @ 820gms  last Thursday. both babies had to be put under the Intensive Care Unit for support & observation though they were reported in stable condition when born...barely 2 days later both Suffian Miqhail & Nur Dania were said to be suffering from pneumonia.
Suffian Miqhail passed away later that nite...:'(
Nur Dania on the other hand is still holding on...
it was a devastating news to all of us...especially when getting pregnant is not as easy as ABC nor cheap to all of us 3 girls in- law in the family :'(:'(:'(
we thought... when Aisha got pregnant, the curse has finally been lifted off but i guess it's only a teaser... :(

we held a simple funeral for Suffian Miqhail yesterday morning with much regrets, sorrow & pain...

& for some reasons this song by Annie Lenox keeps on playing in my mind during this mournful time...



to the first niece in this little family(of 4 cousin brothers) ~ Nur Dania. hang tough baby Chumi, we can't wait to spoil u rotten PINK! keep on fighting, we are all here to pray for ur health. please fight for ur mama, ur papa, ur Big brother Suffian Miqhail, he'd given up his share for u sweetheart...& please, please,please... fight for all of us too...



to my little nephew, Suffian Miqhail~  i guess u gave way to ur baby sis huh!?
well, this world is a cruel place to be in after all. u're in a better, safer place with our Lord Creator now Chicky!  Rest in Peace dear darling baby boy.

to Jomey & Aisha, be strong guys. Be strong for Dania, she's depending on u both to be able to fight her way to stay alive through this testing moment of her life...
Love u guys...

to all my dear friends, please pray for little Nur Dania for a chance to live & PINK our little family full with Blue... thank U!:)

a couple of weeks back a good online friend, Frank Zeno shared this song on twitter which i have not listen to in ages...well ever since my elder brother A1 left for uni yonks ago.

Music Monday #4~ I've had the time of my Life..

i chose this song because lately i was made to listen to the remix version by BEP on the radio...by none other than my son Laith ;P & then. i happend to watch  StarWars the Family Guy version on DVD 2 nites ago (the old chap who was playing obi wan kenobi sings it) & all this reminded me of the movie i so loved & thought it'll be my MM song this week & it so happens that it falls on the Lover's Day of the year...coincidentally...
it has nothing to do with ( today ) being valentine's day cos i don't celebrate the day & i don't need a dedicated day to remind me to celebrate love...i celebrate love everyday...not just the one day in a year..kan Bue!?

but to those celebrating... Have a great Day!

this is the Top of the Pop version by the original singers~ Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes. couldn't find the Dirty Dancing video version that i could embed.


 
& this latest version... even though it's kinda spoiled the original mood of the song i think it's kinda cool too...& it brings back the popularity of the original song no doubt!

Music Monday-Siouxsie And The Banshees - Kiss Them For Me

i'm not sure if anyone would remember this band. they were a (from Wikipedia) British rock band formed in 1976 by vocalist Siouxsie Sioux and bassist Steven Severin. Initially associated with the British punk rock scene, the band rapidly evolved to create "a form of post-punk discord full of daring rhythmic and sonic experimentation". The Times cited Siouxsie and the Banshees as "one of the most audacious and uncompromising musical adventurers of the post-punk era."

personally, i think this is a great song for a dance performance...cos we had one performed during an annual dinner at college years ago...:D
