Love Letters...Ancient history...NOT!

Do love letters still exist?  i'm talking about the old school type of love letters or to be exact love messages that are being pass up and down from one love struck boy/ girl to one another in the classroom? does anyone below the age of 20 ever heard of it? isn't it ancient history? i thought that era has long gone... what's with the phone text messages, Facebook, What'sapps and God knows what other social media available with the technology savvy young generation of today...(o_0)

when finding  not one but 2 old school love letters/ messages in Laith's school pants while doing the laundry yesterday, i experienced a kind of a WOW sensation! it's probably like an archaeologist finding some prehistoric inscriptions or something u know. each were written on a torn up paper from the exercise book. of course, reading sentences like (ok, i must admit my reading mandarin is a bit rusty now but i still understand the head and tail of the letter though :)  : 'u're so adorable and too funny', was cute. finding Sweety and Honey as a form of endearment ( at the age of barely 12!)  were amusing....but, to actually find the Love letter is Phenomenal! It's just Wow! they do still exist Sweety Honey! Thank God, i'm still not ancient after all xD

Sayonara 2011, Good Riddance, Hasta la Vista, babay!!1

unlike all the previous years thru out my life, 2011 is one year that i just can't wait to get rid off as soon as it hits the fist quarter of the year. there were just so many sad happenings thru and thru, from losing someone dear to losing someone new.... there were just too many to list down or this post will never get to be published.:P

as for last year, as usual on the last day of the year; mehubby, Laith & i did some recollection of the past events through out the year.  each one of us listed down what were the highlights of the ups & the downs of the year...
in summary, we all agreed that  the Singapore trip to Universal Studios that we made in September (which i have yet to post) was about the only  thing that we mutually enjoyed. Laith also mentioned that his Birthday party was superb and the best he'd ever had ( Hmmm...how about the one before that and the ones before that and that...? ) & hinted that he wants another party just like it this year.:P
we also unanimously agreed that losing our newborn lil nephew~Suffian Mikhail was the saddest moment in our life. it was one trying moment emotionally. for the family.
as for myself, there were quite a few more events that i would rather not write about which was equally heartbreaking & buckets of tears 'wasting' moments....:'(
oh and not to forget the trips that i had to make to Laith's school for being caught misbehaving quite a number of times...*___________*...what a nightmare! :(
~stern WARNING to Laith: "u better behave well this year dear boy or else..'' (let's just hope i don't have to finish that sentence ever....)

still i believe( i can fly) that everything that happens, happens for a reason, we may find out ( the whys) later on or perhaps will remain a mystery but every cloud has a silver lightning. take every moment as part of our learning process and always, always  count on our blessings...

So let's Welcome 2012 with open dragon's arms... hope that whatever the year has to offer, it shall be better than it was last year ( for me personally).this  year may be predicted as the beginning of the end but who are we to predict, let's leave that to the mighty Lord to decide, shall we...;)

well, may be it's 12 days too late but: Happy New Year Everyone!!!

while watching some recorded program via astro beyond, in between fast forwarding thru the commercials break, Laith thought he saw me on TV! so we rewound and paused...

that was the picture they took of me when SunnyStar was invited to do face painting  for their (Astrolife) Open Day at the Borders the Curve sometime last year...err..like a day after i came back from my second honeymoon in bali that was, looking at my braided hair obviously...:D

we';ve made it this far...a journey of a Dozen year!

It's a Dozen Year!
a dozen year, in human life is considered a Pre-teen
it means...
it's still a long way to go, there are so so much to learn
a dozen year in married life is..
'oh wow, we've made it this far!"
Alhamdulillah....

we've made it this far...
through lots of...
laughter, tears & greeted teeth...
through ups & down, down, down, down, down...(according to Justin Bieber)
through fat & thin..
through teasing, sulking & coaxing..
through...err... sometimes " i feel like strangling yous" moment
especially during those PMS moment..
but of course most often we have our "i love yous" moment...

it's a dozen year!
we've made it this far...
through lots of silly quarrel over silly things...
when i mistakenly put in my shaver instead of yours in the travel kit..
when i absent 'mindedly give u my golf socks instead of yours..
when u keep sitting on my hair clips, pin & brooches on the driver's seat every time i'm done with the car..
when i keep leaving my phone behind or forget to charge it..
when i keep forgetting to put back the gate tag where it belongs..

It's a dozen year!
we've made it this far even ...
through my lame attempt at trying to pay u back what i owe u in say: Singapore Dollars with what i have in Ringgit Malaysia on face value ( SD50 to RM50)instead of the actual value :P
when i greedily monopolized all the spare rooms inda house into my multi-purpose room & my very own styled walk- in closet leaving u none for ur own 'man cave'...
*(but this year i've decided albeit grudgingly gave up my walk- in closet cum the iron surf-board room to be converted into ur very own man cave as the anniversary gift...let's just hope u use it wisely...)

while watching Your selection of TV programs ie: the ESPNews, Discovery channel/ History Channel & the like, u keep flicking through the channels back & forth...
when ur most used word todate is 'picit' day n nite...
oh & 'lapar' even right after we come back from our meal out just an hour earlier which i dubbed as "Perut Bocor"
when u think i have a funny boxy nose which u nicked it "hidung kotak'!
when u think i'm such a busy body when u check on ur fb page every hour of the day & nite...haa...siapa lagi busy body!?
when u caress the paintball marker while watching TV..while i massage ur feet...aish mana aci nih!

we've made it this far... even when
i failed to give u ur own mixed team of football players...
i think picking ur white heads on ur nose is most exciting when u think it's utmost annoying..
u think pulling my white hair gives u such thrill when i think...well.. i don't think... i just shRIEK!!

We've made it this far..through
screams of " Agrhh it's Mickey! (as in mouse / rats), cries of " we've lost the baby( or sometimes babies), again.." or during our quiet silent moment or when i keep repeating "i'm so excited, i just can't hide it..( according to pointer sister)when we're going on a (summer) holiday...moment..

It's a dozen Year!

u've been such a caring, supportive loving & wonderful husband to such a clumsy; "kedok' wife that i am...
it's been such a colourful journey of a dozen year with u...
looking forward to dozens more to come...

here's a song that my siblings & i used to sing to every time we had blackouts at home when we were kids..my eldest brother A1 (probably around 9 or 10 at the time), armed with a tennis racket pretending to be a guitar will sing this song to his heart content & the rest of us will join in during the 'wo..ooo..feeling...' part!
it was good fun cos that is the only part i know how to sing anyway...xD

i've forgotten this song for quite awhile until we were sitting in the dark during earth hour a week ago last month.

i'm not sure if anyone would remember this band. they were a (from Wikipedia) British rock band formed in 1976 by vocalist Siouxsie Sioux and bassist Steven Severin. Initially associated with the British punk rock scene, the band rapidly evolved to create "a form of post-punk discord full of daring rhythmic and sonic experimentation". The Times cited Siouxsie and the Banshees as "one of the most audacious and uncompromising musical adventurers of the post-punk era."

personally, i think this is a great song for a dance performance...cos we had one performed during an annual dinner at college years ago...:D

a pair of perfectly matching socks...part 2

i used to think that only i face this problem...& thought that i must have been really crap at doing laundry cos i kept losing  at least one or two pairs of different colour & different designs of pairs of socks at once at almost every laundry time...hence my post "a pair of perfectly matching socks...is it too much to ask!?" 
then Cecelia Ahern wrote a novel titled : a place called here where all the things that mysteriously went missing ended up at a place called 'Here". which i started to think it could possibly be the answer... well where else would all the missing pairs go? even after i turn the laundry hamper upside down, inside out? *___* 



then i came across this comic strip~ "Hi and Lois" by  Mort Walker & Dik Brown & thought it is actually a universal dilemma faced by many people... hmmm...i am not alone after all....:P

* btw, my problem is now more or less solved by me cleverly buying the same pair of socks of the same colour & the same designs for both mehubby & laith..for a stress free 'socks laundry' dilemma...:P

what 2010 has been to me...

when we stepped into 2010 about a year ago...i didn't have any resolutions of any kind to start with apart from what i have been wishing  & praying for since after Laith was about 3 or four years of age about hundreds of years ago ;P to have a baby sister or brother for him. nothing prepared me for such an unexpected colourful journey of mix emotions through out the year.

this year has been the hardest & the most challenging for me even though i realized that things happen for  reasons. there were lots of unexpected turn of events and definitely lots of what i have wished for myself for as long as i can remember were unfortunately bestowed upon others....how sad... it's just unbelievable but who am i to complain hey!!

it's surely has been a roller coaster ride thru n thru. there were sad times n happy times. bad times n good times...n at times when i started to question the Lord Creator how unfair life is for me then i remember to start counting on all the blessings that been presented to me throughout the year n throughout all my life...i realized that God must have spend quite a lot of time thinking & looking after me when He comes up with all the obstacles for me to go thru with my life and that makes me appreciate every lil things while at the same time knowing that others had to go thru even worse.

ok done with the whine.

for whatever it takes i'm grateful to be surrounded with all the people i love & who love me back unconditionally.  i still have both sets of parents & parents in law. my ever so loving hubby whom i cuddle up to at night n wake up next to in the morning & my lil one & only bossy son Laith that i constantly fuss around for, my family & friends who think that i can be very eccentric at times but love me anyway...:P  yep thank u GOD, i'm blessed.

so goodbye 2010, bring in 2011 n see what adventures u have in store for me.

after a day full of activities, basketball in the morning, berendam at sungai tekala at midday and playing PS2 with mike & sam while killing the time... tibalah masanye untuk...

hahaha...this is the one song that i remember me elder brother Along always sings ever since my other brothers, cousins & other relatives turned to meet the tok mudim in the old days  and to all my nephews these days...lucky for laith though meAlong was not around to scare the lil banana out of him with that hellahorror song....xD

anyway unlike the song above, the appointment was made for 4 pm at Poliklinik An- Nisa' in semenyih. No. there was no sunat beramai-ramai thing held there. we wanted to have it done quickly so not to stress laith out & that he has more time to recover before going on our short melaka holiday in couple of weeks time.

for laith (well not that we have any other sons do we), we've chosen to use the latest technique in circumcision that is the Sunathrone method. invented by Dr Mohd Tasron Surat~hence the clever adaptation & combination of the word "sunat" & his own name into a medical-sounding term!

this method is claimed to be quick, very little blood, less pain but of course not painless or pain free lah ye... &  very fast healing. (ok i'm not being paid for this but thru my observation, yeah it was very quick) & was lucky to have Dr. Tasron himself to perform the Sunat.

 was being comforted by the Aby, & the Umy? busy snapping away of course!!!;P

& this was what me hubby wrote on his fb status~"My son when through his rite-of-passage into manhood yesterday... & all i could do was hold his hands while trying not to grimace & crinch...  :( "

personal comment on the Sunthrone Method: .. ok not that i know of any other methods or experienced (thank GOD) it myself but from my observation with Laith he was able to wear his Bermuda  pants that very same night at home..& was able to play basketball 3 days later.

a new begining to the 2nd decade.

how time flies... it's been a lil  over a decade now... this year, marks our first year to our 2nd  decade together... as u nicely put it..." bukan dah 11 tahun BUT baru 11 tahun..." insya'4JJI....

so here are my thank yous...

Thank u for accepting & tolerating my imperfections, my 'samdot'ness. thank u for being proud of me when expected, for ur honest critics when needed & sometimes unexpected, for correcting me when i made mistakes, for entrusting me with certain things that i never thought i'd be capable of, for believing in me,  for making me laugh when i'm down, for being there for me when i'm sad, for making a fool of urself to make me smile, for making fun of me when i acted silly...or just let it be & keep mum when u know i'll learn some of the embarassing moments in due time without  u telling, for laughing with me rather than at me (as u always claim),  for sharing ur dreams & fantasies with me, for being what i'm not .....

thank u, thank u, thank u..for being with me & for me anytime all the time.....

11th year, 12th rayears~the 1st in Shah Alam.

Rayear has never been the reason for my living. i'll celebrate it when the time comes & of course it's a nice way to end the month of Ramadhan but to me that's about all to it. hence when i was studying in UK, for 4 rayas i didn't suffer any raya blues whatsoever... no doubt i cooked some ketupat bantal, kuah kacang & rendang  & even sate from scratch for the day but that's just to introduce rayear culture & food to my local friends / housemates then.

when i got married, unlike the majority of married couples who would suddenly forgot about how much they love each other for the last 10 or 11 months of the last hundred of years that they've been together just because they cannot agree whose kampung they should be celebrating it at that year, that,to me( as in in whose turn of kampung this year or next) has never been the subject to argue about. since i'm kinda have an oldschool kinda thinking...to me once married, as a wife i should spend the 1st day with the in laws. it sounded unfair but i don't mind that  (not that i don't care, of cos i do) i only visit me parents the day before raya or in the afternoon of 1st day raya or even the 2nd day for that matter. cos to me, as long as i get to see them regularly is Alhamdulillah.& my parents understood...for that i count my blessing.

this year however, due to some changes in circumstances, mehubby suggested that we should celebrate it at my parents in shah alam.... wow syahdunye!!! beraya in bandaraya shah alam for the very first time!!!  come to think of it, truth be told~we don't know how much longer we have time left with my parents. they've been unceremoniously frail for the last couple of years, to celebrate this rayear with them would mean a lot to them.
